Who is Flora?
Gut Flora is another word used to describe the microbiome – the billions of bacteria in the gut.
Food For Flora recipes are based on scientific research findings on the microbiome & are designed to feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut microbiome.
I’ve been reading up on gut flora and the microbiome since 2010.
I’m fascinated by research into microbiome, but I’m not a scientist / dietician / nutritionist, so I have looked to key scientific research sources on the microbiome, including:-

- Justin & Erica Sonnenburg & team : The Sonnenburg Lab at Stanford University
- The American Gut Project
- Monash University Department of Gastroenterology : Research into a high fibre, high prebiotic diet for healthy individuals

How do you create your recipes?
Food For Flora recipes use readily available supermarket ingredients for tasty homemade meals & snacks, packed full of prebiotics & probiotics to boost your microbiome.
Each recipe is tested at least twice, in a home kitchen, to make sure they are fast, easy & foolproof.
Where do you take your photos?
Food For Flora recipes are tested in my kitchen at home and I take photos of my recipes on my kitchen worktop.
